Bahamas

My initial reaction when I was surprised with a trip to the Bahamas: OMG YES!!!! Surprise trips are honestly the best, especially when they’re to a beautiful beach destination. If every vacation I went on could be to the beach, I would so do it. I love the warm weather and relaxing by the ocean and/or pool with a cute, fruity drink in my hand; and this vacation was just that!

In the Bahamas, we stayed at the new Baha Mar resort in Nassau. The resort has a pretty good sized casino and three different hotels: the Grand Hyatt, the SLS, and the Rosewood (which just opened last week!). The Grand Hyatt is the most budget friendly, the SLS is in the middle, and the Rosewood is the most high-end hotel with most of their rooms being suites. All are super nice and highly recommended. We stayed at the SLS for this trip, which I would probably recommend the most; it is so trendy, and, in my opinion, has some of the best views as it is closer to the beach than the others hotels. I was lucky enough to have a corner room with ocean views, and WOW I have never seen a more beautiful view out of a hotel room.

The resort has six pools in all, I only went to two because I spent a lot of time at the beach. Both pools I went to had bars at them as well as poolside servers to bring you drinks and food. All of their drinks were so cute, and definitely insta-story worthy!

One of the pools is also a day club called Privilege. While I did not go to this pool, it was right outside my window and I did some great people watching from my balcony. It looks just like a Vegas pool party, but on a smaller scale. So if that is your thing or you’re there for a bachelorette or bachelor party,  definitely check it out!

The beach at the resort is also amazing. The water is so crystal clear blue, I’ve never seen anything like it! They have beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas for all of the guests to use and staff members will help you set up your chairs and umbrellas wherever you want. They also have huge floating mats in the ocean so you can layout in the water and not get too hot!

The resort has so many restaurants, and sadly we did not get to eat at them all, but the ones we did eat at were amazing! We went to 3 Tides which is a seafood restaurant with so many amazing dishes. Ask the waiter which fish are local, those are always the best! We also went to Fi’Lia, which is a Bahamian twist on Italian style restaurant. They have a lot of pasta and pizza dishes as well as seafood. It is a tapas style restaurant with all of the plates being shareable so we go to try so many different things! All were amazing, but I think my favorite was the meatballs. The last restaurant we went to was Cleo, a Mediterranean restaurant. And again, this was a tapas style restaurant so try a lot of things! I definitely would recommend the Haloumi Cheese Saganaki, it is table side flaming cheese, a super cool experience (and delicious too)!

Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Baha Mar and I can’t wait to go back to check out more of the pools, restaurants, and the new Rosewood Hotel! I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for an awesome beach get away whether it is with friends or your significant other; there are plenty of things to do no matter what the occasion for your vacation is!
